A touch of class was bestowed upon the Chancery lobby after this latest refurbishment. Completed by a combination of architects and interior designers, the design brief requested an aesthetic based on the ‘Waldorf Astoria Hotel’ in New York. Marble floors, French wash paint work and feature timber profiles back lit with LED striping populate the opulent lobby atrium.

 

The ceiling is a first in WA, decedent yet modest the design illuminates the space tastefully via recessed LED panels arranged in bands of 3x3 clusters. The ceiling is not merely an aesthetic statement however, its surface is sound absorbent and limits reverberations off the hard floor and wall surfaces, a feature acclaimed by a cello player on opening night. The luxurious refurbishment was designed and documented by Oldfield Knott Architects.
